The Giant Robot Famicom Scion XB is a prototype car inspired by the Japanese Famicom system. Everything about the car, from the way it is powered, to its overall look, design and feel is taken directly from the Famicom gaming system and the 80s gaming era. The video clip is presented by Eric Nakamura, who co-designed the car and is also the founder of Giant Robot magazine. The car has only been driven once but is fully functional in every way.

Sometimes all it takes is one really fun image to put a smile on your face first thing in the morning. The above image featured on Dorkly's website is from the creative hand of artist Alyssa Alecci. The comic strip is entitled "You know you've been playing too much Bioshock when..." Thanks to GP Ed James for the pic ;)

A few weeks ago I received the Gamercize Power Stepper (http://www.gamercize.net/) in the mail to try out for Gamers for Health. Basically it’s a small step machine that has a device that connects your controller to the video game system. If you stop stepping or aren’t fast enough, the connection is severed and the controller turns off. This forces you to keep on moving. What’s great about this is I can use it with any game I want.
When I was regularly going to the gym, the step machines were a regular part of my workout routine. I’ve just been playing with this machine a bit, but last night I gave it a good work out to see what it’s really like. Read More
According to details released by Activision Blizzard, the Call of Duty franchise is more popular than ever, with an astounding total of two billion hours played by gamers worldwide. The latest title in the franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops, continues to rise up through the popularity ranks with 27 million gamers spending an average of 52 minutes online every day. In comparison, Facebook users spend an average of 55 minutes per day online. That's a whole lot of gaming.
Bobby Kotick, CEO of Activision, commented on the franchise's popularity: Read More

When it comes to video games and violence, DuelingAnalogs know where it's at. Although I've never actually thrown anything or punched anyone during a gaming session, I know people that have. And if you've ever been on a losing team on Xbox Live (especially playing any of the Halo or Call of Duty games), you will undoubtedly understand the reference to XBL in the comic strip. That place can sometimes be inhabited by the meanest of pit fighters and abuse-spouting mercenaries.

After yesterday's announcement relating to Activision's removal of Guitar Hero from its franchises, I have to admit I was a little saddened by this news. Over the last couple of years, I had grown very fond of playing my plastic 'axe' and thoroughly enjoyed tapping along to some of my favorite rock anthems. Despite this, I was a little concerned when both DJ Hero and Band Hero came on the scene. In my opinion, the true hard rock focus of previous GH expansions was slowly giving way to softer, more 'popular' styles of music. Read More

I've played many MMOs over the years and I still find it hard to deal with some of the ridiculous things that developers/designers come up with in MMOs. Yes it's fantasy and it's not supposed to look real. Nothing is real in a fantasy world - not the blood you spill, not the characters you play, not the world you inhabit. I suppose that's why so many people play them and are entertained by them. Read More

A not-so-subtle message from the brilliant Ctrl+Alt+Del team regarding piracy. It seems to me like it's a 'tug-o-war' between the two parties involved. Is there any room for those inbetween - the gamers like you and I? All I know is that if piracy continues, the methods to stop it will only become more and more restrictive and intrusive until eventually, gamers will be hurt one way or another.
